Lori Moffatt – Founder, Principal, Chief Talent Advisor

Lori Moffatt, Founder, Principal, Chief Talent Advisor of Focus Insights, has more than 20 years of diverse experience in Leadership and the Human Resources field. Prior to establishing Focus Insights Inc., Lori held positions in Recruitment, Sales and Senior Management, contributing to recognized private sector organizations such as Manpower Services, Kelly Services, The Caldwell Partners and Thomas International.

Her mission in founding Focus Insights was her dedication to helping clients – individuals and corporations – perform to their maximum potential. Her in-depth knowledge of sales, customer service and senior management, advanced professional assessment certification, and practical approach to Human Resources’ needs and development are vital skills and credentials that Lori brings to her consulting practice.

Lori is a frequent guest speaker at symposiums and conferences across North America including Target Training International, the International Customer Service Association and the Project Management Institute. She also serves as a member of TTI’s Chairman’s Club, which is reserved for the top 100 distributors worldwide.

Lori’s credentials include: CPBA Certified Professional Behavioural Analyst, CPVA Certified Professional Values Analyst, Certified Attributes Index Analyst and Certified TriMetrix®  Analyst (only 10% of those using these instruments have achieved this senior level of certification). Lori has been accredited as a Certified Facilitator of Crucial Conversations which was awarded the best training product in 2004 by the Human Resource Executive.

Jim Stewart – Principal, Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Jim has over 30 years of diverse business experience, having served in a number of management, executive and board level positions over his career. Most recently, he was President and majority owner of an Ontario-based wireless distribution company, a company he sold immediately prior to joining Focus Insights.

A self-described ‘hands-on’ entrepreneur for the past 20 years, Jim started his career in the corporate world, and early on served in a variety of sales, sale management and senior sales management positions. He left his position as National Director of Sales of a leading telecom manufacturing company in the late 1980’s, to co-found Troy Technologies Limited, with a mission to make early and mid-stage investments in primarily Canadian information technology organizations, and along with his two partners, to serve as part of the senior operating management team within these companies. As it evolved, Troy and its subsequent iterations held ownership positions and management responsibilities in eight different organizations, and ultimately was part of a public share issue on the London Stock Exchange, in concert with a large Canadian pension fund and a U.K.-based telecommunications company.

Jim brings a wealth of business expertise, at all levels and in all sizes of organizations. He discovered the power of assessments during his time at Troy; he found them to be an irreplaceable tool in understanding, managing and developing employees within the Troy stable of companies. He has since received TTI Certification as a Professional Behavioural Analyst and Professional Values Analyst, and has also received certification training as a TriMetrix Analyst. Jim joined Focus Insights in 2008.

Heather Tawaststjerna – Talent Advisor

Prior to joining the Focus Team and working as a consultant in her own practice, Heather worked as a Senior Consultant developing and delivering professional services with Drake International’s Contact Centre Practice. By bringing together her expertise in People, Process and Technology Heather worked with customers to build effective Talent Management solutions.

Heather’s extensive 17-year career in the contact centre industry started with Bell Canada where she worked with Fortune 500 clients to successfully implement Advanced Performance Management Programs (APMP) and a wide range of training programs customized to meet specific business requirements.

As a certified Advanced Performance Management consultant Heather implemented programs to measure and manage overall Contact Centre performance utilizing standardized metrics for productivity and call quality.  A key component of APMP is the development and implementation of a Quality Monitoring program to support knowledge and skill improvement of the contact centre representatives.

Over the next five years Heather built the training organization for Nice Systems, a leading “Digital Voice Recording” company. Through Heather’s leadership Nice Systems developed and delivered “Quality Management” programs and “Train the Trainer” programs to organizations around the world.

The last 8 years Heather has been focused on working with customers to ensure that their Human Resource strategies are aligned with their Performance Management strategies.  The result being a high performance workforce!

Heather has completed her Certification in DISC, PIAV and TriMetrix.  These are tools often used both during the hiring cycle as well as for ongoing Performance Management / Career Planning with employees.

Ross Murphy – I.T. Manager

Ross is valuable resource for the Focus Insights team for everything relating to I.T. and the web.  Ross is a professional web designer and developer with over 4 years of development experience obtaining his undergraduate degree in Web Development and Graphic Design from Charles Sturt University in Australia. His expertise is in developing scalable, interactive, database driven, user experiences and solutions for individuals and organizations. He has handled nearly every aspect of web application development, from server configuration to database design, creative design to content management.

He prides himself on developing usable, standards compliant, web applications using the latest Internet technologies.  Ross has developed a number of websites and content solutions for a variety of clients. In addition, he is well versed in desktop configuration, applications, and anything to do with daily I.T. operations.
